"Bailey"

Date of Birth 3/26/02
Sire: Katrina's Charmer of Manfred (Fievel)
Dam: Genre ERAS You Had Me At Hello (Meg)

Breeders Margie & Steve Staniszeski

Bailey was our first Havana Silk Dog to come in to our home and we have been hooked ever since! We remember when Margie, her breeder, said she chose "IRISH" as the theme for this litter. She did this, because the entire litter looked almost identical and every pup in the litter was a Black and White Irish Pied. One look at her, and we decided that she looked like a glass of Bailey's Irish Cream. So as you can see we used this in both her AKC registered name and her call name as well.

While our original intention was to simply purchase her as "pet", Margie talked me into trying to show. At first, I thought, I can't do this as I am a nurse, but come to find out, so was Margie, and she did it. So, so much for that excuse. LOL I took classes and soon our two girls, Sara and Beth did also, and joined me in the show ring doing Junior Showmanship. Bailey finished her AKC championship on her 10 month b-day, with me handling her all the way!! What a great gift it was! Sara and Beth have both used Bailey in Junior Showmanship and also have done very well .

Bailey has been such a source of joy for us. She literally wakes up in a happy mood. She loves to jump on our two girls' beds in the morning and wake them up. She is quite a talker, without being yappy. She thinks we understand her, and the strange thing is, usually we DO! You literally would swear she was saying "Good morning Sara and Beth".

She is the definition of a "velcro" dog. She LOVES to be with us, but yet she knows when she has had enough, and literally takes herself to bed every night around 8:30pm regardless of what we are doing. Knowing she was our companion first, show dog second, she hasn't let us down.

Bailey finished her championship on her 10 month birthday in Grayslake, IL on January 26, 2003. She completed
her championship in just 4 months! We have Margie and Steve to thank for Bailey. She came at a difficult time in our lives and what a source of joy she has been. She has truly been an “Irish” blessing!
